Four rubber feet are installed on the narrow side and holes are drilled on bottom of wide side so it's easy to switch out.
Currently set up as closed back, the cab includes additional back panels top and bottom in case you prefer the tone of an open-back design. I sold this cab around 12 years ago and in the interim has seen limited home use only. This beauty is in stunning condition; as clean as a new one hanging in your local store. It also has an absolute killer set up; just waiting for somebody to pick it up and start playing. The Clapton was Fender's first ever signature model, becoming available to the public , and other than a few different model pickups Vintage Noiseless in , is virtually unchanged since ' The model is based loosely on Clapton's original "mutt" nicknamed "Blackie" that he assembled from three mid's Strats.
This model appears much the same as Clapton's prototype guitars. The guitar uses a lightweight alder body with a polyurethane finish and single-ply white pickguard, plus a soft-V shaped fret maple neck. Other distinct features include a "blocked" American vintage synchronized tremolo, and special electronics circuit that features Fender's TBX pot middle knob and an active 25dB midrange boost bottom knob , which are wired to work on all pickup settings.
With the mid-boost turned down to "1", it's virtually out of the circuit and sounds like a regular Strat, as you turn it up the pickup gets fatter and fatter, with hotter output.
The TBX knob is detented at "5", working like a regular tone control from , and from acts like a treble booster, adding additional sparkle and clarity. Other features include vintage style frets, modern 9.
At 8 lbs, 1 oz this is actually on the lightweight side for a Clapton. Gibson Auto Tuning System , installed. Purists may not like the idea, but for players who simply want to have more fun with alternate tunings, it rules.
These were made by Tronical and used on many Gibson guitars a few years ago for their auto tuners, aka Min-Etune or G-Force. Light years ahead of their automated tuners from their Robot guitars a decade earlier, these are more accurate, easy to use, and not finicky. We took this set came off a Gibson SG when it was brand new so it has zero hours of use.
The power supply has never even been uncoiled. For a simple demo check out YouTube here. I had a number of these 15 years ago. This model is sort of a meeting of the old and the new. The most notable feature is the carved mahogany top on a mahogany back, which has its roots in the 50's with the all-mahogany Les Paul Custom which, oddly, was more high end than the Standard, although the Standard body was more expensive to manufacture due to the maple cap.
The thing you'll immediately notice with an all-mahogany Paul is the "roundness" and warmth of the tone. While it doesn't quite have the note definition of a maple cap, it is definitely a fatter sounding guitar. Another notable feature is the nicely rounded '59 mahogany neck which will appeal to players who want something more substantial than the '60 thin taper. From a luthier standpoint, my man Martin says that these finishes contribute to maximum sustain - as opposed to any lacquer which actually deadens the tone slightly.
It also feels great in your hands, especially when you perspire. I sold this guitar back in '07 and it was traded back 14 years later. It obviously was used sparingly in those years and is offered with just a few minor flaws, overall excellent condition. Frets are rusty so we'll obviously polish them no charge prior to shipping, along with our usual great in-house set up. Nice sounding Paul, dark rosewood board, Burstbuckers, Trapezoid inlays. I have two of them only one is shown.
A killer EVH Frankenstrat tribute guitar built by a great builder with the exact woods, proper tremolo, and the right electronics. The reason is quality. Includes hardshell case and certificate. Another great JCM, original series, very clean as these go, and monster sounding 80's Marshall. The is a watter dual 's with channel switching and reverb.
Along with the W version of this head , this is my personal favorite of the JCM range. The was one of the few models that were "new" to the JCM line, i. Features include a "Normal" channel and "Boost" channel, the former with only gain - bass - treble controls; while the Boost has a red light when engaged, and has the usual bass-mid-treble-volume-gain.
Both channels share a master volume thus 3 gain stages on the Boost channel - and overdrive ability on the Normal channel - plus a shared Presence control and master Reverb. The rear panel has an effects loop and D. Other than some black paint along the bottom edge of the back panel, this amp is in nice shape with panels and covering in nice shape - definitely better than the average which are notorious for road wear.
I'm still finding Annapolis PRS's - this is the 5th one this year! These old-factory models, easily identifiable with the original small logo and short neck heel, were actually handmade, before the move to the new factory and use of CNC machines. This one's finished in Black Cherry with a lovely flamed top that's graded "10", impressed into back of headstock.
Commonly and incorrectly referred to as "pre-factory", these early Annapolis models are nonetheless much more cherished than the later ones built at the Stephenville factory which opened in ' When they moved from Annapolis to Stephensville, PRS eliminated most of the hand-crafting in favor of CNC machines and made a few other cost-saving changes. The Custom 24, especially with the tremolo bridge, has a looser feel than a Custom 22, plus a "longer" neck, i. Now over 25 years old this guitar is officially vintage and it's noteworthy that this is the 17,th guitar PRS had built in the 8 years they had been in business.
We haven't buffed it out yet but there are very light scratches that we will buff out prior to shipping. It doesn't have a rash pattern, so my guess is one time it was strapped on and came in contact with a buckle.
Frets show just minor wear - needs no attention. This is a very clean guitar overall. Comes with your choice of strap pins original, Schaller, or Dunlop. Whenever you play one of these older PRS's you can almost sense the meticulous human attention to detail as you're holding a guitar that will likely never be hand-crafted again. Prices on Annapolis-era Customs continue to rise but they're still a good value, especially when they're cheaper than a comparable new one.
It plays like all old PRS's with low action and no dead spots. Includes nice original case, trem arm and paperwork. Custom Frankenstein , full-front back , headstock , pickups , trem , front , back , sides.
Ready to go. Martin just finished installing a ca. The body is made by KNE of 2-pc alder. The real work was done by Electric Eagle Guitars in Maple Ridge, Canada, who painted it in authentic and correct colors using nitrocellulose lacquer and them aged it with their own relic process.
It looks old and superb. It has a very aged 3 way switch screwed into middle pickup space. Trem is a brand new Floyd Rose Special that has been aged. In terms of the body finish work and aging, none came close to this one. It would make a cool statement piece whether gigged at a rock club or proudly hanging on the wall in your music space, just waiting to jam.
Sorry about the blurry pics but just know this guitar is flawless. I'll reshoot a few when I get a chance. All the features you know and love with an EVH plus a few other nice touches like a sleek ebony fingerboard, quartersawn maple neck, easily accessible "kill" switch, and D-Tuna which drops your E down to a D in a split second. Other features include solid basswood body for warmth and mid-range projection, genuine Floyd Rose tremolo for superb tuning stability during dive bombing, and jumbo frets for easier string bends.
Other features include modified Strat-style body with a deeper upper body curve, heel-mounted truss rod adjustment wheel, matching color "hockey stick" headstock with EVH logo. They deliver plenty of punch while maintaining articulation and a nice sustain. Boss's new super compact multi-effect that's lightweight under 3 lbs.
Don't let the size fool you though. This is a powerful unit Boss GT-Series engine that contains a whole bunch of Boss's famous stomp box effects and a wide selection of classic amp models. An assignable control switch and expression pedal give you real-time effects adjustment and by connecting to BOSS Tone Central, you can download free pro patches, editing software, and more.
For the busking guitarist, it provides 7 hours of playing time on 4 AA batteries also runs on 9V adapter. It contains effects in all including a good acoustic guitar simulator, electric guitar simulator, second looper, Delay, Reverb, Modulation, Wah, Overdrive, and others.
Nice condition; nice playing guitar with a tasteful pickup upgrade. The P90 is humbucker-sized and required no modification. The stock humbucker will also be included. The result is a guitar that has both the vibe and more of the tone of the vintage model.
The ultimate in simplicity, the Junior features a compensated wraparound tailpiece, single pickup, and a single volume and tone. Includes removed original humbucking pickup.
The full-size version ODR-1 has actually been in production since '85 and has become a relatively unknown secret weapon of sessions players and touring guitarists. The Spectrum control runs the range from mild crunch to full on hard rock. Turned forward and it adds brightness and gain without being harsh. Turned backwards makes the tone darker with softer highs. This pedal is a winner and won't take up much real estate on your pedalboard. Mint condition. One of the coolest rock guitar silhouettes in history.
The reverse Firebird body shape and 6-in-line headstock make it an anomaly among Gibson guitars and gained notoriety in the hands of players such as Eric Clapton and Johnny Winters.
Like the vintage P90 Firebirds, this model delivers a raw, biting tone with excellent clarity thanks to its P90 single coils and all-mahogany construction. Body and neck are mahogany with a slim taper neck profile and 22 polished frets.
It is finished throughout in nitrocellulose lacquer. It also features an aluminum Tuneomatic bridge with aluminum stoptail, Grover mini tuners, rosewood fretboard, Black Top knobs with silver inserts, dual volume and tone controls and Tektoid nut. Vintage Sunburst was the only finish for this model. Set up to perfection with low action and no buzzing anywhere. Plastic film is still on pickguard and backplate and this guitar is in immaculate condition. Includes Gibson brown hardshell case.
Perfect home for your vintage Fender P or J Bass. Some tolex chips on the outside but overall nice shape for a vintage case plus you get some cool artwork for free. One of these enhancements was the Delta-Tone system which consists of a new higher output bridge pickup in conjunction with a new "no-load" tone pot.
The tone pot has a detent at the 10 position, which bypasses completely any filtration through capacitors and essentially disconnects the tone pot for those that might want the feature while having the ability to rotate the pot off the detent and roll off the tone normally. It is set up to perfection so it plays with ease and ready to gig tonight.
Includes original case. Barely played - cool take on a classis. Artist signature model built in conjunction with the long time guitarist from the Foo Fighters. It also sported a pair of Seth Lover-designed humbuckers which also appeared on the Thinline, and in the neck position of the Custom.
Includes Fender case and complete accessory bag. It's a very shallow C shape with very little shoulders and from all the necks Fender has made over the years is probably the easiest to get your hand around.
It also has a maple skunk stripe instead of rosewood. I know people associate these pickups with vintage Danelectro's but honestly they sound very Strat like in all 3 positions but perhaps a bit more percussive, which I appreciate.
A review in Premier Guitar commented, "I was shocked, and a little dismayed, that in many ways the Squier sounded nearly as good as my Custom Shop Strat that cost me about eight times the price! It also features a beautiful Surf Green body with a white pearl pickguard and vintage tremolo with stamped saddles.
Neck features the original F-tuners as well as the F-neckplate. Overall excellent condition all around other than a small finish chip next to the neck pocket pic. Being honest here, as good as the is much of the value comes from neck which is essentially an '83 USA Tele. But it sets up perfectly and is an exceptional player so I'm hesitant to separate a great combo that works. If you're looking for something unique this could be the ticket.
Marshall Origin 20 Tube Head , panel , back. Classic Marshall tone in a JTM-looking small box head. Simple to use, like the classic Marshalls of yesteryear.
Select your level of crunch or clean using the Gain and Master knobs and tweak your tone via the Presence knob and the 3-band EQ, plus there's an additional boost by pulling the Gain knob. This model also includes a Tilt control which blends bright and normal sounds, much like running a jumper cable between channels on the old 4-input models. There's also an FX loop for integrating your favorite pedals.
There are a bunch of demos available online and here's one showcasing the knobs and different gain levels, and this one which focusing largely on higher gain tones with a Les Paul. Exceptional condition, exceptional guitar. Like some other of the recent McCarty models, this is a wonderful blend of vintage design with modern building processes and cosmetics. This new design stays in tune very well, contributes to better sustain, and feels great while palm muting.
Even the scale is revamped and at The bell tone from this guitar is remarkable which should be immediately noticeable by experienced players. Superb set up is expected from high-end PRS's and this one easily qualifies. It's a joy to play, with no hand fatigue to boot. Barely played and an exceptional guitar in all regards.
Includes perfect case and all case candy. This is clearly above average for consistency of flame. Marshall Class 5 All Tube Combo , top , back. With the Class 5 Marshall has produced a another classic, with simple controls, classic looks - like a baby Bluesbreaker, and that classic all-tube Marshall tone. And to really set them apart from the plethora of low-powered amps which have become de rigueur, this amp is made in England, rather than China, Korean, or Vietnam.
With "just" 5 watts through a single EL84 power tube, with two 12AX7's in the preamp, the Class 5 delivers whatever Marshall enthusiasts wants, crunchy fat tones, at a power level that lets you run the power tube hot without getting an eviction notice. With quality features like finger-jointed birch ply cabinet rather than pressed board, and a great sounding Celestion G10F made specifically for this amp, gives excellent low end response and a very punchy mid-range.
I need to take a moment and thank the ProGuitarShop for their excellent online reviews, which I share with customers frequently. Click here for their review on the Class 5. I need to mention that Marshall put out a mod kit to eliminate tube rattle at higher volumes. Don't be fooled though, 5 watts is very loud and it's actually enough for some band situations.
I'd never heard about American Acoustec until I got this one in recently. I was especially surprised since I'm only around 3 hours drive to Rochester, NY where they were built. The company was producing guitars from ca. These guys met at the mechanical engineering department at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Plays very well with no issues anywhere. Includes excellent protection with a canvas over Styrofoam Ultralight case. Includes V7-S1-V8 pickups and Alpha 5-way switch.
Fender Vintage Noiseless Strat Set. Offers a good vintage tone without the hum associated with vintage single coils. They features special beveled edge Alnico II magnets and enamel-coated magnet wire for great clarity, definition and harmonic properties of a vintage Strat. Really nice custom finish work in building this EVH tribute axe including pro body finishing and routing, dummy red single coil in the neck, pickup selector in the middle route, hand-cut 3-ply pickguard, Eye Hook strap holders and of course the quarter.
The D-Tuna lets you drop precisely to a low-D in a second while the brass trem block increases sustain. Bridge humbucker is the stock EVH Wolfgang model. Stock features on this guitar are no less remarkable starting with the graphite-reinforced baked maple neck which has a hand-rubbed oil finish for fast play and extreme comfort. Neck has 22 jumbo frets on a compound fretboard that goes from 12" at the nut to a comfortable and flat 16" radius on the upper frets.
Other comfort features include a forearm contour for less arm fatigue as well as a belly cut that allows the guitar to fit your torso more comfortably.
When you strip away everything this guitar is essentially a Baretta, with a single humbucker and volume control, and while it's not the most versatile, many players in the 80's and 90's made some great music with this formula.
It has an set up and no fret wear. In fact, nowhere on this guitar as I don't think it's been played since the finish work was done. Option 2 is an EVH gigbag shown here pic2 which features red velvet lining with two poly patches inside where it contacts strings at the headstock and bridge, large storage compartment, compartment on back to tuck away shoulder straps and embroidered EVH logo.
I think this is the first New Hartford CT Guild we've had and talking to folks who have them, most believe they're as fine as Guild has ever made. The entire line of Hartford Guilds are universally thought to be head and shoulders above the Westerly, Corona and Tacoma Guilds. This guitar is loud, responsive, and sounds superb. I'm not sure what's up with Guild these days. I've read that production moved to Oxnard CA in but I've heard little about them during the current era other than it seems that this model is now built with a satin finish rather than lacquer.
Bottom line though is that the New Hartford models are finely crafted of excellent tonewoods and should prove to be an excellent investment on the secondary market. The history of the Guild D goes back to and was a highly regarded acoustic in the days of the folk movement.
Richie Havens played one in open D tuning for his famous set at Woodstock, for an example of its pedigree. This guitar is extremely clean other than an area along the back edge where the binding had slightly separated shown here. The set up is low and easy and the tone is sweet, loud, and robust. Includes vintage Guild case pictured. Super clean, well thought out, expertly built.
My buddy George ordered a Honduran mahogany body, 2-piece, with offset seam, and paired it with a USACG rock maple neck, with Madagascar rosewood fretboard. It is fitted with a tilt nut adjustment so it can also accommodate a Fender neck without modification. Tuners are Hipshot locking type with a Callaham Guitars bridge on the other end. Pickups are top notch as well, with a trio of Lollar Specials bridge Duncan replaced with Lollar after pic was shot.
Includes a clean SKB molded case that fits perfectly and hugs the body all around. Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50 Head , panel , top , back , back panel , accessories. Flawless in appearance and performance. Great sounding and versatile amp and unlike some other Boogies I've had over the years it's very easy to dial in a quality sound. With some older Boogie amps I would spend a lot of time tweaking the knobs and switches, trying to get a great sound.
This amp seems to have eliminated that problem. The Fillmore features two fully independent, footswitchable channels, each with 3 mode channel cloning. Channels 1 and 2 feature: channel cloned clean, drive and hi modes, with independent gain, treble, mid, bass, presence, reverb and master controls.
It uses a pair of Mesa 6L6 power tubes as well as five 12AX7's in the preamp. Onboard long-tank, spring reverb with independent channel controls as well as FX loop and footswitch. Still built and wired at the Petaluma, CA factory with top quality materials. There are many more features to list but read this review link at Premier Guitar to get the full skinny.
Includes cover, footswitch, felt skids, manual and tags. Lovely rosewood Grand Auditoriumstring with superb low action and beautiful tone.
It's very balanced with high end sparkle, exhibiting the huge chorusing effect I love in a string. Taylor's Grand Auditorium size is very close to a dreadnought with similar width and depth, but a tighter waist that many find more comfortable while its increased tonal presence stands out better in the mix. I fell in love with Taylors in the 80s mainly due to their slimmer necks which made it feel much like an electric guitar. The ce neck has the same slender feel which makes it easy to get around on with low action that reduces fatigue on the left hand.
With Taylor's Expression System 2 for amplified tones you get the best system for retaining the guitar's natural acoustic tone. The system employs three calibrated pickup sensors installed behind the saddle and through the bridge to capture vibrations in the strings and the solid spruce top providing balance and accuracy.
The Expression 2 was created in partnership with audio pioneer Rupert Neve, with simple controls consisting of just volume, bass and treble controls. Other features include Grand Auditorium body size, Solid Sitka spruce top, Venetian cutaway for easy access to the upper frets, rosewood back and sides, sapele neck and ebony fingerboard.
This guitar is in lovely condition with the only flaw being a center-seam crack see arrow here which has been professionally glued, cleated, and lacquered over. Its gloss finish shines like new and it even has some nice figuring in the sapele neck.
Designed by Fender Master Builder Greg Fessler and features a blend of the old and the new, something Fender has been featuring occasionally for the past decade. The 60's Classic Player has some unique features most notably and absolutely breathtaking gold flake finish that Fender calls Vegas Gold. I've had flake finishes done by several boutique builders and none of them compare to the depth or sparkle of this one.
Next up we have a trio of Custom Shop '69 pickups with gray bottoms and cloth wiring. Add to this the vintage-style 2-point fulcrum bridge which features vintage bent steel saddles but on a more accurate 2-point fulcrum instead of the 5 wood screws of a vintage trem. Other features include alder body, maple "C" shape neck with a very flat 12" radius, rosewood fingerboard, 21 medium jumbo frets, 5 way pickup selector, Gotoh vintage style tuners, Custom Shop designed neck plate and green pickguard with aged plastic parts.
Some of the best hand-made leather goods made in USA. Red Monkey makes a lot of styles. I had a bunch of these in the 00's and although I haven't had one since '07, I've always been impressed with OLP's quality for the price, plus every one we've had set up exceptionally well. This MM-2 has the looks and vibe of a Stingray including the oversized humbucker pickup, pickguard, controls and control plate, body shape and headstock shape.
The action is low and comfortable and it gives you a good selection of tones. Even acoustically, it sounds good. Controls include a volume knob for each of the two coils, plus a master tone control.
With one knob turned up it's a single coil, good for midrangy Jazz type sounds - or with both knobs turned up it's a humbucker, which is closer to a P-bass tone. This is a solid elm body with maple neck that's not chunky, not too thin. Nice feeling neck. Cosmetically it's in average used condition with just a dull finish and clear coat flaws. We can buff it out if desired but it has the look of a well-used bass and some of you will appreciate that. Fender uses similar wear found on Relic's including finish checking, body wear along the edges, headstock edge wear, dulled pickguard, and back of neck sanded down.
Other features include alder body with nitrocellulose finish, distressed urethane neck finish, vintage 7. Pickups are the stock Tex-Mex single coils. The set up on this guitar is spectacular - done by Sweetwater and barely needing a tweak by us. It has very good sustain, noticeable when played acoustically.
I love the vibe of this guitar when I holding it, not exactly like a '60 Strat but much closer than an American Vintage series. It includes original gigbag, tags and paperwork, and trem arm. This is the "all gold" model with a Aztec Gold nitro lacquer and gold hardware, with light to medium relicing including checked finish and aged hardware with misc finish chips here and there.
One of these could easily be the centerpiece in many Anniversary model collections, to go along with your 25th, 35th, various 40th's, and production model 50th's. Features include Aztec Gold finish with gold hardware, gold anodized pickguard, V-shaped neck, finish checking and misc dings as well as fretboard "wear", aged hardware, and 50th Anniversary neckplate. Nice lightweight Strat at 7.
Unplayed condition with Tweed case, sealed accessory bag, and COA. Less than 7. I believe this is actually a model they called Stratocaster "Special" which had some nice features not necessarily found on the Mex Standard. I know the logo wasn't the style they used on the Standards.
It's a vintage spaghetti style, but without the "Custom Contour Body" decal on the ball of the headstock. Inside it sports a trio of Alnico single coils with stag poles, USA pots and switch. I had thought that the only Specials they did were HSS but this looks all original inside and the logo wasn't used on any other Strat from the 90's.
Regardless, it's clearly a cut above the Mex Standard, on par with a 60's Classic Series. It's in spectacular condition, no disappointments in that regard. It has a low, comfortable set up and has a good fat tone for a Strat. Lovely 90's Martin rosewood dreadnought with the classic Herringbone trim plus a few user added appointments that can be easily changed if desired.
You'll note in the pics the added abalone pickguard, butterfly headstock emblem, and abalone-edged tuner buttons. We have the original tuners buttons, can swap out the pickguard for a standard black Martin, and remove the butterfly if desired.
This guitar was a father's gift to my lady customer and he had it outfitted this way when he gave it to her in Knowing some folks are into mojo, I usually post something as it comes in so here you go. Although an attractive guitar this guitar is all about sound and it's one of the louder Martin's I've had in recent memory. It also has a very booming bass that makes it sound absolutely huge - but somehow it's very articulate and one of the better finger style Martin's I've played.
Overall it has an even response and holds up to extreme strumming with ease and gets louder instead of more compressed. Cosmetically there are just a few clearcoat scratches and impressions.
Very nice condition. Both cases are in exceptionally clean condition. The new model 2 which is an update of the original Flashback now with the new "Mash" technology that is controlled solely by how much pressure you apply to the depressed footswitch.
Click here to see Mash in action. It also triples the Tone Print slots to 3 for storing effects. The Flashback 2 also allows you to easily transfer your favorite delay settings via USB, again, with custom patches by some big name artists. Another cool feature is TCE's audio tapping technology, which allows you to set delay times by strumming your guitar, plus a toggle switch allows you to switch between 16th notes or dotted 8s, for a more U2-like sound. Built ultra-tough with a metal chassis and a footprint smaller than Boss to preserve your pedalboard space.

Like most things Gibson, I always prefer earlier versions. Their changes always seem to take a model further away from its original design, and it's hard to improve upon the original 50's Paul.
I know they're not necessarily cheaper to build, but why change something that isn't broken. The '60 Classic has all the classic features of a Les Paul Standard including glossy nitrocellulose finish, mahogany body with maple cap, mahogany one-piece neck, rosewood fretboard with aged trapezoid inlays, bound body and neck, inlaid headstock logo, nickel hardware and vintage-style tuners with tulip button.
Cosmetically it's in nice shape with just some minor clear coat scratches and impressions. Set up is very low and super easy to play. Includes brown case with combo lock and "pig" blanket. The headstock had another set of tuners at some point but we've plugged the holes so it's barely noticeable.
It also has a few pro-plugged neck bolt screws but they're not visible and will never be a problem. We also did a proper install of the Floyd nut in place of the vintage nut. The back of the neck is unfinished, another Charvel feature, which feels great, and with the thin profile you can really blaze on this thing. We painted the headstock to match the body and installed an early 80's logo which looks okay but looks thin and worn. The neck has loads of birdseye; one of the best looking necks you'll find.
Really nice example in classic 3-tone sunburst. The AmPro is the latest and greatest version of the American Standard, with some nice enhancements over the previous versions. Pickups were developed by pickup guru Tim Shaw including the "Shawbucker" bridge humbucker and V-Mod's in the middle and neck. These new V-Mod single-coil pickups are voiced specifically for each position, mixing alnico magnet types to produce a more powerful tone while still sounding like classic vintage Fender.
Add to that more clarity on the highs with Fender's new treble-bleed tone circuit. This one plays sooo nice, low action and not a hint of buzz. Cosmetically it's really nice with perfect frets and only flaws are a few clear coat impressions on the back.
It's very rare that I get in older Steinbergers, and I'm definitely a fan of these. Ned Steinberger's designs were famous for the headless neck with tuning done via tuners integrated into the bridge which was the most radical guitar design innovation in decades.
Rather than fight a mound of lawsuits from other companies stealing his idea, he licensed it to many other manufacturers, which is why you'll see a licensed Steinberger system on lower end models such as Cort. The gloss black finish is in decent shape with just some clear coat scratches and a small touch up next to the trem shown here. Includes original Steinberger gigbag, trem arm, Dunlop-equipped strap and an extra set of strings.
If you want a plethora of info, check out steinbergerworld for all things Steinberger including literature, timelines, serial database, etc. Nice little grab-n-go combo from VHT with lots of tone shaping capabilities, 10" speaker, and full-size reverb tank. Clean channel has Volume only while the Drive channel features Level and Gain plus four drive modes: Overdrive, Distortion, Metal, and Redline, which is super-duper high gain.
On all settings it responds well to pick dynamics and guitar volume control regardless of setting. For live gigs you might want to add an extension speaker and the 40R will accept any speaker load down to 4 ohms. In addition to being a good sounding amp, perhaps best of all, it only weighs around 16 lbs. ADA is hot right now. People are rediscovering the cool tones from classics like the MP-1, MP-2, Flanger, and signature amps.
Tube fans might shutter at the thought of these but this unit is heralded for its very natural tone despite the lack of tubes. There are a lot of controls, necessary with a 2-channel preamp with independent channel voicings and EQs. Each channel has three voicing options—clean, overdrive, and distortion—followed by drive, bass, middle, treble, and master knobs.
The EQ controls are derived from a Fender-style tone stack. Pro install, neat and clean. Thanks to Martin the Great, it plays nice and sounds very good. Other than electronics it appears all stock with no breaks or repairs. Like the vintage Firebirds, this model delivers a warm and fat tone, thanks to its all-mahogany construction. The R and T humbuckers are powerful, much more than the vintage model's mini-hums. It also features a chrome Tuneomatic bridge with aluminum stoptail, Grover mini tuners, rosewood fretboard, Black Top knobs with silver inserts, dual volume and tone controls and Tektoid nut.
Plastic film removed after pic shot but not a flaw other than perhaps a few pickguard scratches. Includes Gibson gigbag, fretboard protector, strap, polishing cloth, and all paperwork. Perfect condition. Just like the great old RG's of the 80s and 90s, the new Genesis Collection are made in Japan with all the quality you expect in these fine guitars. This one is offered with an absolutely killer in-house set up and it's offered in flawless condition.
Note: now contains stock Gretsch knobs in addition to the ruby caps pictured. Looking for an absolutely killer playing Nashville with a perfect, original neck set? Look no further. I've been saying that the recent Japan Gretsch's all play better than all the old USA ones but this is an exception. The action is low at the nut and stays low all the way up the fretboard and no fretting out on bends.
You might remember this guitar as this is the 3rd time I've owned it in the past 13 years. Overall this Chet is in pretty very nice condition with a clean, original finish, moderate fret wear, and all original except original owner flashed it up a bit by painting the pickguard black with a red racing stripe and putting a matching ruby crystal caps on the knobs.
One of the common Gretsch problems, cracks in binding are nonexistent pic and the only hint of deterioration is a small spot on the heel shown here. Features of the Chet Atkins include: laminated maple body with 2 real f-holes, body 16" wide - 2. This guitar is one of the best playing vintage Gretsch's I've ever played and at nearly 50 years old, it's priced less than the new Japan models.
Includes original Gretsch case in slightly rough shape but fully intact except for one latch missing and neck support inside is a piece of foam. This one plays soo nice, low action and not a hint of buzz. Fender has really improved their relic process in recent years. This is one of a run of guitars custom made for Willcutt Guitars.
